An agent that offers more.

Are you looking for an agent who has the skills to find the perfect house? How about someone who can also help with choosing the right paint, furniture or decor that tailors to your style? Seeing the bigger picture of what a home can potentially be is one thing I LOVE about my job. The other is having my clients invest in THEMSELVES and helping them grow that investment with my interior design expertise.

Tips and Tricks.

  • Freshen it up! - Treat yourself to fresh flowers, add some essential oils to your furnace filter, reorganize & wipe down your fridge and take a magic eraser to your walls and door frames. It's amazing how a tired scuffed wall or door can come back to life afterwards! Whatever doesn't come off with a magic eraser consider using touch up paint. These small touches portrays care and cleanliness your guests and the potential buyers which is a win-win when showing off your home!

  • Colour is everthing! - Painting is a very effective way to update your space and can create a sense of feeling; such as welcoming, light & airy, moody or fun! Picking the right colours can be intimidating as you need to consider things like the lighting in the area and the rest of the decor scheme in the room. My suggestion is to purchase a few samples of colours you have considered and paint a sample of each colour on one area of the wall. Over the next few days visit the area at different times of the day so you can judge how the natural and artificial light makes the colour look and feel. This will save you time and money as you consider the colour a little bit more carefully by going through this process.

  • Fixture update - Updating smaller fixtures such as kitchen cupboard handles, door knobs and lighting can change the overall fell of a space without investing in any sort of demolition or expensive materials and labour. These features tend to leave a good impression on guests and potential buyers.

  • Decluttering is key - If you are planning to put your home on the market or just looking to reorganize your space, decluttering is the best way to start. Store away small appliances, consider reorganizing trinkets and pictures, sell that extra chair to free up some more space in your living room. Sometimes less is more! Removing personal items are especially important when showing your home to the public. The more personal photos & keepsakes you have on display the harder it is for the potential buyer to envision themselves living in the space. Plus, it will give you a head start on the packing process!
